ABOUT LISA LINKOWSKY
The T in the road
led here.
Founder & Principal Consultant, Milestone Franchising. Former franchise pioneer. Third-generation business owner. And someone who has stood exactly where you're standing now.
I know the T in the road well — because I've stood at it myself. After years in corporate America, including the last ten working from home before it was fashionable, I had built a life with real flexibility. I could raise my kids, set my own pace, and work on my terms. The idea of giving that up for a traditional job was never going to happen. Business ownership wasn't just appealing — for me, it was the only direction that made sense. It's in my DNA. I'm a third-generation business owner.
So I took the leap. I became one of the very first franchisees in the BirthdayPak system — and I didn't just own a territory, I helped build the brand. I trained franchisees, mentored new owners, sat on the Franchise Forum, and fielded hundreds of validation calls from prospective investors. I even hosted day-in-the-life visits — letting candidates see exactly what the business looked like before they committed. That firsthand exposure to what serious due diligence looks like shaped everything about how I guide candidates today
That's where something unexpected happened. Call it pattern recognition, call it instinct — I started to see, early in those conversations, whether someone had what it took. I'd flag my concerns to the franchisor. More often than not, they'd bring the candidate on anyway. And more often than not, those candidates would struggle or fail. I began cataloging the commonalities. What made someone ready. What made someone not. What questions they weren't asking that they should have been.
I had a plan: sell my business, take everything I'd learned, and build an advisory to help people navigate the franchise world with the kind of honest, informed guidance I wished had existed when I started.
Then the pandemic hit. BirthdayPak — like so many businesses built around in-person experiences — went down in ashes. There was no sale. No safety net. Just a pivot, in the middle of the hardest possible moment, into the business I'd been planning to build anyway.
It turned out to be the right moment. Business ownership exploded during Covid as people reassessed everything — their careers, their independence, their future. Milestone Franchising launched into that wave, and hasn't stopped since.
That's the foundation everything here is built on. Not a certification. Not a course. A decade of living it, losing it, and rebuilding — and a career spent making sure the people I work with go in with their eyes wide open.

WHAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE
Anyone can research franchises. What Lisa brings is something that can't be taught — the pattern recognition of someone who has been a franchisee, built a system from the inside, and watched what separates the owners who thrive from those who don't.
Why experience changes everything.
The operator's eye
After years of validation calls with prospective investors, Lisa developed an instinct for fit — the questions candidates weren't asking, the assumptions that lead to failure, and the signs that someone is truly ready.
Full-time, all in
Milestone Franchising is not a side business. Lisa is a full-time, dedicated consultant — one of a small percentage in this industry who does this work exclusively and completely.
Integrity above all
Of 500+ candidates guided, not all became franchisees — and that's intentional. If franchising isn't right for you, Lisa will tell you. A commission never comes before a client's best interests.
Still there after
The relationship doesn't end at signing. Lisa continues to support clients after they become owners — connecting them critical industry resources as they build their business.
